MailerLite Vs. Mailchimp (2024 Comparison) – Forbes Advisor – Technologist
Here’s a look at the differences and similarities between MailerLite and Mailchimp.
Free Plan
While both MailerLite and Mailchimp offer free plans, MailerLite’s version is more impressive. With MailerLite, you get 1,000 contacts and 12,000 emails per month, compared to the 500 contacts and 1,000 emails per month offered by Mailchimp. MailerLite’s free plan also includes many features Mailchimp’s free plan lacks, such as email scheduling and advanced segmentation.
Unlimited Emails
If you upgrade to MailerLite’s Growing Business plan, you’ll be able to send unlimited emails each month. Unfortunately, unlimited emails aren’t an option with Mailchimp. Even if you splurge on Mailchimp’s top-tier Premium plan, there’s a cap of 150,000 emails per month.
Templates
MailerLite’s template library, which is organized by industry, contains over 60 templates, all of which are modern and responsive. If you prefer, you can create your own HTML templates from scratch.
Mailchimp offers more than 100 professional, responsive templates or themes that are sorted by category so you can easily find what you’re looking for. Custom template creation is also available through Mailchimp.
Email Automations
MailerLite makes it a breeze to create workflows based on opens, links clicked and other campaign actions. But it lacks some of the e-commerce-based triggers that Mailchimp offers, including shopping cart abandonment. To take full advantage of all of Mailchimp’s automation triggers, you’ll need to invest in the Standard plan, which is $20 per month.
Landing Pages
With MailerLite’s landing page builder, you can add pop-ups, surveys, quizzes and payment integrations. Even the free plan allows you to build up to 10 landing pages. Mailchimp’s landing page templates are ideal for different industries and include call-to-action buttons to encourage recipients to take the desired action.
They also allow you to embed countdown timers to motivate recipients to act quickly. No matter which free or paid plan you choose, you get unlimited landing pages.
Analytics and Reporting
When it comes to reporting, MailerLite’s offerings are fairly basic, even with its paid plans. Unlike Mailchimp, it doesn’t report on social media, landing pages and ads, or directly integrate with Google Analytics so you can track conversions.
Integrations
Since Mailchimp is such a well-known platform, it integrates with hundreds of tools, including Salesforce, Drupal, Facebook and many more. MailerLite, which is a newer tool, offers countless direct integrations as well. The two solutions are tied for this area.
Customer Support
Mailchimp and MailerLite offer support through email, live chat and a self-serve knowledge base. But the channels you have access to depend on your plan. You’ll get email support with a free MailerLite plan but will have to upgrade to a paid plan for live chat support.
Mailchimp isn’t as generous in the customer support department. The free plan only comes with 30 days of email support. Once the 30-day period is up, you’ll need to invest in a paid plan for email and chat support. This can be an issue, especially if you’re new to email marketing but don’t have the budget for a paid plan.
