Here at Inszone, one of our missions is to make sure that every employee is appreciated, acknowledged, and recognized for their achievements. This Employee Spotlight series aims to celebrate success and highlight the talented individuals we have at Inszone, Cover Cannabis, and California Pool Association. Each month we’ll be featuring Inszone employees on our website, blog, and social accounts.
Paul Lee is a Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager at Inszone Insurance Services, joining the team in 2020. Beginning his career in 2006 committed to providing the absolute best guidance to his client base, Paul is a veteran in the insurance industry. Despite his tenure, he firmly believes a true professional must learn daily and have a solution-oriented mindset to solve the most complex of problems. Paul enjoys the engagement and interaction with business owners and takes pride in knowing his collaboration was critical in helping them expand over the years
When asked to share some words about Paul, Richard Choe, who is Inszone’s Business Unit Manager and Paul’s direct supervisor, said, “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Paul going on 11 years now. Honestly, I don’t know where I’d be without him. We joined Inszone together from our previous agency in 2020 and from day one I’ve relied on him in almost every aspect of our business. He is not only highly skilled at problem solving, but his creativity in coming up with solutions to a broad range of challenges constantly blows my mind. From a technical and technological standpoint, he’s one of the smartest people I’ve met. He always takes the time to listen to my struggles and will troubleshoot and problem solve immediately. He brings that same can-do attitude and skillset to his clients every day. It’s no wonder he had the highest renewal retention for our K-Unit team in 2023 and he enjoys a super loyal following from his clients. We’re lucky to have such a talent like him on our Inszone team.”
Mohsen Khan, Inszone’s VP – Southern California also had some words to share about Paul. “It’s rare to find someone with Paul’s level of technical expertise and innovative mindset. His work and dedication has impacted the entire territory in a meaningful way. Conversations with Paul tend to leave you with a sense of calm and confidence in his ability to execute. I’m consistently impressed with his thoughtfulness and its say to say his clients and teammates feel the same way. Proud to have you on the team Paul and thanks for everything you do!”
To get to know more about Paul, we asked him a couple of questions about him and his time in the insurance world:
Q: Tell us about your start in the insurance industry?
A: My journey into the insurance realm began with a varied background in retail, finance, social networking, and community service. Seeking a long-term career path, I was fortunate to have a friend working for a top-producing Farmers agent who graciously opened the door for me. Starting at the ground level, I immersed myself in servicing claim calls, understanding the intricate workings of insurance policies. As I climbed the ladder, from producing auto and home policies to delving into the commercial side, my aim remained consistent: to be the insurance confidant everyone seeks. This ethos continues to guide me today.
Q: What qualities make you a “great” Insurance agent?
A: Patience, exceptional communication skills, and a keen emotional intelligence define my approach as an insurance agent. Coupled with an unwavering determination to see tasks through to perfection, these qualities have fostered deep, lasting connections with my clients over the years.
Q: How did you come to the conclusion that the insurance industry is a good fit for you?
A: The insurance industry offers a dynamic landscape that never grows stale. Each day presents new challenges, victories, and opportunities for growth. It’s this perpetual freshness that drew me in, making it a career I wholeheartedly dedicate myself to.
Q: If you could sit down with your younger self, what is one piece of advice you would share?
A: I would counsel my younger self to embrace the inevitability of failure as a catalyst for growth and to prioritize authenticity over external validation. By nurturing a steadfast commitment to personal and professional development, one can navigate life’s challenges with resilience and purpose.
Q: What’s something you do outside of work that would surprise your co-workers and clients?
A: Beyond my professional endeavors, I find fulfillment in the art of music as a DJ. This passion not only serves as a creative outlet but also underscores my appreciation for the universal language of music and its ability to transcend barriers. Music is my vitamin. Additionally, I have a passion for photography, finding solace in capturing the beauty of the world through my lens. Furthermore, I’ve embarked on a journey into the realm of literature, delving into diverse genres and authors, expanding my horizons through the written word. These pursuits, alongside my enthusiasm for cutting-edge technology, serve as testaments to my commitment to ongoing learning, innovation, and personal growth.
Q: What interests you in a career here at Inszone?
A: The prospect of joining Inszone is compelling due to its reputation for fostering professional growth, fostering a collaborative environment, and embracing a culture of innovation. The opportunity to work alongside like-minded professionals and leverage streamlined systems designed for productivity is particularly enticing.
Q: What quote keeps you inspired in your day-to-day life?
A: “…what we do in life… echoes in eternity”
-Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son. Husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.
